Darkfield microscopes
Darkfield contrast is typically used for unstained samples. The image seen has the appearance of a dark, almost black background with highlighted bright objects on it, producing very recognizable, often even called spectacular images. These objects, because they are unstained, are hard to see with brightfield contrast. The applications are mostly biological samples, smears from tissue culture or water-borne, single-celled organisms
In the past darkfield microscopy was limited due low light levels seen in image. Euromex has overcome this issue by developing very strongly illumination methods, without causing damage to the samples

Fluorescence microscopes
For biological and medical applications, microscopes equipped for fluorescence are used to observe certain parts of living cells and tissues with help of fluorophores
One or more fluophores are added to certain parts of the specimen tissue or cells. When exposed to so-called “exicitation light”, the fluorophore absorbs energy from the excitation light and emits ligth in another visible wavelengt. This make it possible to distinguish tumor cells from other cells, to prove the presence or absence of antibodies or to observe sub-microscopic structures of cells and tissues, etc
Euromex fluorescence microscopes are constructed with an incident light source, specific Plan or Plan Fluarex – optional semi-apochromatic – objectives, a set of excitation and emission filters and a dichroic mirror
The upright models have a modern 3 Watt LED transmitted light source and a 100 W incident mercury vapor illuminator. The inverted models have a 100 W transmitted mercury vapor illuminator and a 30 W halogen incident light source

Illumination Solutions
Choosing the right illumination is essential with stereo microscopes and is mostly determined by the transparency of the object.
With non transparent objects, an incident or epi-illumination will be used. An incident illumination can be coaxial or for a certain angle. With transparent or partial transparent objects, a transmitted or diascopic illumination can be used. Sometimes, using both incident and transmitted illumination at the same, can give better results in order to reveal some details.
The geometry, surface structure and material composition of the object are also important parameters for choosing the best illumination solution.

Inverted microscopes
Inverted microscopes for Life Sciences are often used to observe cell and/or tissue cultures in a Petri dish of flask. The observation can be done under more natural conditions than on a glass slide. The light source and condenser are mounted on the top of the microscope above the stage, the objectives and turret mounted below the stage
The inverted biological microscopes of Euromex are available for bright or phase contrast and also with fluorescence attachment. Specific objectives compensate the 1.2 mm thick bottoms of the petri dishes or culture flaks

Stereo microscopes
A stereo microscope or dissecting microscope is an optical microscope with a fixed or adjustable magnification (zoom) objective and is designed for observation of samples at relative low magnifications from 2,5 to 90 times (max. 300 times). These microscopes consists out of two distinct optical systems providing 2 images, one image for each eye. Subsequently, the human brain combines the two images to one 3-dimensional image with increased depth of focus
