• EXPELL CRYOBOXES – PLASTIC CRYOBOXES

CAPP’s plastic Expell Cryotubes are made of highly durable polypropylene and are suitable both for freezing at – 90°C and autoclaving at +121°C for 20 minutes.

Expell Cryoboxes are universally compatible with many other brands of cryo tubes. When used along with Expell Cryo Tubes, they provide further unique, space-saving advantages, due to the unique design of Expell Cryo Tubes. External thread cryo tubes are normally stored in boxes with 9×9 dividers, as the construction of the external thread adds an edge to the lid. The streamlined design of Expell Cryo Tubes eliminates the edges, making them perfectly suitable for storage in boxes with 10×10 dividers. This increases the storage space by up to 23 %, compared to storage in standard 9×9 boxes.

Expell Cryoboxes have a numerical coding on both the lid and the bottom of each box. The edges are slanted in order to ensure proper lid positioning and eliminate any potential encoding failures. The star-foot lock at the bottom of each box well enables one-handed tube opening without taking the tube out of the box.

  • EXPELL FREEZER BOXES

Expell freezer boxes are made of highly durable polypropylene, making them perfectly suitable for work at low and high temperatures. You can use Expell freezer boxes for storage at -90°C and you can also autoclave them at +121°C for 20 minutes. Expell freezer boxes are ideal for cryovials storage. All CAPP cryo boxes have the same lower part of 130 x 130 mm and lids in 5 different heights: 32, 40, 50, 80 and 90 mm. With this flexible construction, you can use Expell freezer boxes to store cryo tubes in sizes from 0.5 to 5mL. Expell cryo boxes are suitable for storage of multiple brands of cryovials, though used along with Expell cryo tubes, the cryo boxes from CAPP will provide you with further unique and space-saving advantages.

Expell cryo tubes are one of the only external thread tubes suitable for storage on freezer boxes with 10×10 dividers. Combining Expell cryovials with Expell cryo boxes, you save up to 23% storage space, compared to other standard solutions.
Additionally, you can store approximately 30% more samples on your ULT (ultralow temperature) freezer when using the 0.5mL Expell cryovials with the right match racks for storage on ULT and 32mm freezer boxes, compared to the use of conventional 2.0mL cryotubes and 50mm boxes.

CAPP freezer boxes have a numerical coding for each tube, enabling a quick and easy sample identification. The star-foot lock at the bottom of each box well enables one-handed tube opening without taking the tube out of the box. On top of that, CAPP freezer boxes have slanted edges for easier identification and handling.

  • Fluorescence microscopes

For biological and medical applications, microscopes equipped for fluorescence are used to observe certain parts of living cells and tissues with help of fluorophores

One or more fluophores are added to certain parts of the specimen tissue or cells. When exposed to so-called “exicitation light”, the fluorophore absorbs energy from the excitation light and emits ligth in another visible wavelengt. This make it possible to distinguish tumor cells from other cells, to prove the presence or absence of antibodies or to observe sub-microscopic structures of cells and tissues, etc

Euromex fluorescence microscopes are constructed with an incident light source, specific Plan or Plan Fluarex – optional semi-apochromatic – objectives, a set of excitation and emission filters and a dichroic mirror

The upright models have a modern 3 Watt LED transmitted light source and a 100 W incident mercury vapor illuminator. The inverted models have a 100 W transmitted mercury vapor illuminator and a 30 W halogen incident light source

  • Food

    Clinical information

Food allergens enter the body via the gastrointestinal tract. Within a short time after consumption, the IgE-mediated immune reaction may lead to symptoms such as burning or itching in the mouth, nausea, intestinal and stomach cramps, diarrhoea or skin redness.  Severe reactions are associated with bouts of asthma, dyspnoea and increased pulse. In rare cases they lead to an anaphylactic shock. The foods which most frequently trigger allergic reactions include nuts, peanuts, soy, wheat, fish, milk and eggs. With a prevalence of 5 to 10%, primary allergic sensitisations to foods play an important role particularly in babies and infants. Food allergies in adults occur with a prevalence of 1 to 5%

    Diagnostics

For clarification of sensitisations to food allergens, EUROMMUN offers differs food profiles (EUROLINE). These permit the in vitro determination of human IgE antibodies against the most frequent food allergens in serum or in plasma. Moreover, country-specific food allergy profiles are available which have been developed with regard to the regional eating habits.

In addition, the total IgE concentration can be determined using the Total IgE ELISA.

  • Gastrointestinal infections

    Clinical information

Gastrointestinal infections can be caused by bacteria, viruses and parasites and are among the most frequent infectious diseases. They manifest as gastritis, diarrhoea, vomiting or unspecific symptoms which occur within only few hours after uptake of the pathogen with some bacterial or viral infections and may, in rare cases, lead to chronic sequelae. Infections with parasitic pathogens, however, usually take a chronic course.

    Diagnostics

Viral infections are often self-limiting, which is why it is sufficient to treat the symptoms, and laboratory diagnostic tests are usually not performed. Bacteria such as Yersinia and Campylobacter, however, may cause immunologically mediated secondary diseases, e.g. reactive arthritis. Here, serological tests may support the diagnosis. Infections with Helicobacter pylori may cause chronic active gastritis and complications such as gastroduodenal ulcer disease, stomach carcinoma or lymphoma. Antibody detection is recommended in suspected cases of non-acute or chronic infection. Parasitic pathogens such as Schistosoma and Strongyloides stercoralis can also cause gastrointestinal symptoms with chronic courses. Direct and indirect methods are applied for diagnostics. In general, specific antibody detection is suitable to support the diagnosis in suspected cases of chronic courses or secondary diseases, but not for diagnostics in acute cases.
